The Lone Ranger

Seventy-five years later, he's still going strong. (I think XM Radio must have licensed every episode ever broadcast.)

Still in copyright as far as I can tell. The character was acquired by Jack Wrather (who also had the rights to the Lassie TV series) and after his death was briefly owned by Disney (when they bought the Disneyland Hotel from his estate) before being sold to Classic Media.
