I've been a fan of the series from the beginning. It was a little slow(translate to bad) during the octopus faze, but it's now back on the right track with the return of Murphy and Mullaney at the writing helm.
You are sure right about the books, Randy. I, too, have been a fan from the beginning of the series and I am really enjoying what Murphy and Mullaney are doing with the books now. If anyone reading this isn't familiar with The Destroyer you might want to give them a read.
Like the others have said, the series has really come back since Warren Murphy and Jim Mullaney are back in the saddle. Dead Reckoning, which is just out, is my favorite so far of the new destroyers.

Pardon my use of faze for phase. I think my brain must have slipped a gear there.

Thanks for mentioning the interview, Bill!

I haven't read any of the new series, and now I've really got to do it. I'll hit the bookstores next week.
Really good stuff! Murphy and Mullaney write like Murphy and Sapir did back in the glory days. Seriously, I'm pumped the series is back in good hands!
Thanks for mentioning the interview, Bill. And thanks to everybody else for the kind words.
