I see a few good choices (AIRPLANE!) and then, bam! 27 DRESSES? Seriously? Even Jackie couldn't get through it ONCE, let alone more than that. 'sophie' thinks (sic) that STEP BROTHERS is "so damn underrated"? NOT!!! CLUE was a painfully unfunny chore to sit through. WHITE CHICKS is "so genuinely funny"? No. Believe me, it isn't. As for a bunch of others, I will be kind and assume they will grow out of it as they mature. I know there are movies I loved as a kid that I couldn't watch today, but I would immediately eliminate every title with Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and Katherine Heigl as a starter.
Yes, there are a number of things on this list I agree with (but no GROUNDHOG DAY?). Some we watch fairly often, others just certain sections. I'd say Jackie's go-to choice would be INDEPENDENCE DAY.
From the list: AIRPLANE! THE PRINCESS BRIDE LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN MY COUSIN VINNY JUNO MOONSTRUCK
I realize I'm a relic, but the absence of CASABLANCA still irks me.
Also: ANNIE HALL RIO BRAVO SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF WHEN HARRY MET SALLY... TWO FOR THE ROAD (we watch these two every New Years Eve) 1776 GROUNDHOG DAY THE TEN COMMANDMENTS (at least the first half) NATIONAL LAMPOON'S ANIMAL HOUSE CHARADE AMERICAN HOT WAX (if I could find a copy) THE COMMITMENTS THE GODFATHER (I and II) IN & OUT (most of it) CABARET IT'S A GIFT SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER
Yes sir, an authoritative list, and all in color too! None of those nasty b&w antiques (has this joker ever seen one?). I got down to 35 before I encountered one I'd actually watched, and there's only one - Roger Rabbit - that I'd actually seen in a theater. Pfui!
Of the ones I've seen once, there are hardly any I've watched a second time. Most of them were outside my demographic even when they were released. My wife would rather have a root canal sans novocaine than see FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING or FURY ROAD ever again.
Wayyy too many bad movies on this list. My Big Fat Greek Wedding, 27 Dresses, Spice World, Pitch Perfect, Forrest Gump,13 Going On 30 and about 20 others I wouldn't watch a second time with a gun to my head. Jeff-Sorry but Independence Day is on my top ten all time worst movies. And no Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, Chinatown, Godfather 1 and 2, Casino-the list goes on. Fred-Sorry but I love Fury Road.
