NY Daily News: Chart-topping R&B singer Natalie Cole, who followed her famous father in the music business with hits like “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) and “Unforgettable,” died at age 65. Hat tip to Jeff Meyerson.
Sounds like a great concert. We saw B. B. King the first time at the Fillmore East ca. 1970 when he was just getting "discovered" by the hippie generation when "The Thrill is Gone" came out. He was great. We last saw him - with Rev. Al Green - at 81 in 2007. Even though he had to sit on a chair he could still bring it.
Completely unexpected...I knew she'd struggled with addiction but that was decades ago. Apparently, the after-effects lingered even though she'd been sober for years. RIP, Natalie--I don't think I went to a single wedding in the early 1990s where "Unforgetable" wasn't the first dance.

Yikes. That's too young. Haven't looked at the obit yet, but I wonder if was something that can run in the family...
