Signed in 1948 (age 18), missed two years to military service, and didn't make the majors to stay until 1957. A good fielder, but only an adequate hitter. I liked him, though, based (solely) on how his baseball cards looked. Back then, with so little baseball on TV, you could watch the Game of the Week every week and never see some players; I don't think I ever saw him play.
