The Princetons? The Packers? Little Mac?

Were these people living in an alternate universe?

The NY top 10 of 12/29/65:

1 1 WE CAN WORK IT OUT / DAY TRIPPER - The Beatles
2 3 THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE - Simon & Garfunkel
3 4 TURN! TURN! TURN! (To Everything There Is A Season) - The Byrds
4 7 I GOT YOU (I Feel Good) - James Brown & The Famous Flames
5 8 AS TEARS GO BY - The Rolling Stones
6 12 THE DUCK - Jackie Lee
7 2 TASTE OF HONEY - Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
8 9 A MUST TO AVOID - Herman’s Hermits
9 10 SHE’S JUST MY STYLE - Gary Lewis & The Playboys
10 15 THE MEN IN MY LITTLE GIRL’S LIFE - Mike Douglas

Yes, that Mike Douglas. "It's My Life" by The Animals jumped from 19 to 12. "A Well Respected Man" by The Kinks went from Sure Shot to 26.

Actually, I see that song by The Packers is #31. I'd swear I've never heard the song, but maybe I did. I just put it on and I'm sure now that I never heard it. Good instrumental, though.

I don't remember those either, Jeff.i sure do remember In the Midnight Hour, but not Little Mac (which sounds like a kid's meal). My favorite of those you list is easily Sounds of Silence, followed by the Byrds song.

Mike Douglas had hit records at the same time as the Beatles? That's mind-blowing!

There was variety on radio in those days. Now nobody knows what radio is, and only a few of us remember what it was.
