I can't replace any of them with better, but the only two I agree with were The Bourne trilogy and Lord Of The Rings.
Star Wars was spoiled by Return of The Jedi, Godfather III was godawful, Matrix II and III should never have been made. He even admits the third Alien movie wasn't good and we won't even talk about the fourth. The Temple of doom spoiled Indy and, again, we won't speak of the fourth abomination(and for god's sake, don't succumb to those rumors of another).
I happen to agree with Bud about Ford's Cavalry Trilogy BUT...
Strictly speaking it isn't a trilogy. The characters in the three films are different and don't carry between the three films. Kirby York in FORT APACHE is not Kirby Yorke in RIO GRANDE and there is nothing similar to either in Nathan Brittles in SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON. Trooper Tyree in RIO GRANDE is not SERGEANT TYREE in SHE WORE A YELLW RIBBON, and while Victor McLaglen plays his standard drunken Sergeant in all three movies they aren't the same character (in part becaus eMcLaglen is killed off in FORT APACHE). So the Cavalry Trilogy doesn't apply based on the rules of this list. It is a trilogy "in our minds" rather but not officially.

What! No John Ford cavalry trilogy!?! I'm shocked and indignant!!!
It's "still a great movie in and of itself" - not to me. And THE MATRIX? Uh uh.
LORD OF THE RINGS, absolutely. The rest, not so much though not as bad as THE MATRIX.

Where is The Evil Dead trilogy???
George Romero's zombie series is certainly better than anything on the list. Whether or not it counts as a trilogy is another question.
