I've read twenty-six of the books; though I have started three or four more at one time or another, and have read some--not all--of Bierce's collected stories.
I've read all of those but #40, Bud. Some of them require a taste for old and dated writing styles, but Castle of Otranto and Melmouth the Wanderer are still fun. Anne Racliffe had a tendency to explain everything away, but still worth a look if your tastes run that way.

My horror cred is seriously lacking; I've only read twenty-four of the forty.
Only nineteen for me. But I'm not sure 1984 qualifies as a horror novel.

Includes some pretty good tomes for non-horror buffs, too. I appreciated 5,6,9,10,21,31,34 &38.
The following look interesting: 8,13,15,16,28,33,40. Might read. Anyone read/like/recommend any of these?

Thanks! I appreciate the info.
Oh man, I got some reading to do. Only read a third of these, and disappointed in myself for never having heard of quite a few of these titles.
Thanks for the link.
