30,000 On The Hoof was the first western I remember reading. I must have been ~ 8 yrs.and checked it out of the Pecos Library, which at the time was an old donated small house. It was built high off the ground with about 20 granite steps to the entrance. This is the first time I've seen the book and cover together. Thanks for the ref. Brings back good memories.
