Haven't seen The Kings Speech yet and to be honest with you it doesn't sound very appealing to me. I would place True Grit in first place with Social Network second. And The Fighter is certainly better than The American or Ghostwriter-not bad films but not grerat ones either.
I've read Sarah Bradford's biography of George VI, and it is clear that Lionel Logue's work with him was quite literally the making of his reign. King George's stutter was debilitating, and at a time when partisans of Edward VIII were trying to make it seem as though the new king was just short of an imbecile (or maybe not even short of being one) Logue's therapy helped secure his place at a crucial time. I can't wait to see this film (although in all confidence, Colin Firth is nowhere near handsome enough to play George VI).

I'm glad to see THE GHOST WRITER made his list since everybody else making lists seems to have forgotten it.
I forgot about Shutter Island which would have made my top 5 and The Town which would have made my top 10
Sorry Roger, but THE AMERICAN was a snooze.
