I've read and liked Simak but that book doesn't ring a bell. Read all the rest for sure(reread most)Ther are books om there I consider not just good SciFi but truly great literature. Forever War has as much to say about a man out of place as Frankenstein or Robinson Crusoe.
I enjoyed THE SNOW QUEEN when I read it in the day. Have not read RENDEVOUS WITH RAMA (akways founf Clarke pretty dry) and for some reason I never read GATEWAY.
My results: same as yours. Wonder what the results would have been if "City" was listed instead for Simak. I'm pretty confident that Simak, as well as R. A. Lafferty will be "rediscovered some day.
I'm with you, Bill. I've read all but Snow Queen, and am disappointed by the ranking of Simak's Way Station, one of my favorite books that I re-read every few years.
Read all the Heinleins (except STARSHIP TROOPERS--couldn't finish it), CANTICLE FOR LEIBOWITZ (required reading in high school--didn't do much for me then, but haven't looked at it in 35 years), and THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE. I'm pretty amazed I've read that many as I'm not a huge SciFi fan.
Same here - could not finish The Snow Queen either. Way Station was one of Simak's better novels but he is almost forgotten now. Sad -he was 1/2 of the first Ace Double I ever bought - and another almost forgotten writer, A. Bertram Chandler was on the other side.

Like you, The Snow Queen is the only one I haven't read. Never even tried it.
Agree on Waystation as well.

I've only read four, but then...well, I just haven't read that much sf over the years. I was surprised only 49% read THE FOREVER WAR.

I read all but "Way Station" and "A Canticle for Leibowitz". "Snow Queen" is long and... well, it's long, but I thought it worthwhile.

I hated Gateway.
