None of these are as bad as my own worst prediction--that cellphones were just a fad. My thinking was this: how many people could there be who, given the chance to talk on the phone more or less all the time, would actually want to do it? My guess was 1-2%. The correct answer was just about everybody.
It reminds me of a quote attributed to either Daimler or Benz to the effect that cars would never become very popular because there weren't enough chauffeurs in Europe.
Oh, I forgot to mention my all-time worst prediction: After I saw the trailer for it, I told my husband, "Phew, that 'Titanic' movie is going to sink like the Titanic."
He still reminds me of that whenever I make other predictions.

I would've missed that one, too. I don't carry a cell phone.
