One of my favourite John Ford-John Wayne collaborations. Ford's use of Technicolor in some of the scenes - particularly the thunderstorm scene - is stunning, and in this picture he really make Wayne work outside his comfort zone, I think at least partially as a result of seeing Red River.
One of my all-time favorites. The scene where The Duke dresses down Carey and Johnson is priceless. Two facts: the photo of The Duke's deceased wife is Libby Custer, and Pony That Walks is the Indian who posed for the nickel.

Was this the only movie in which Big John ever cried, or at least got misty eyed? (The scene where the troop presents him with the retirement watch.)
