"The Name of the Rose" is one of the most amazing books I have ever read. "Foucault's Pendulum" was also pretty good. A long and productive life, and, from everything I have read, a good person.

I picked up The Name Of The Rose because I thought it was an historical murder mystery. It's much, much more than that. More than my lone brain cell to understand, so I had to read it twice. Amazing novel. R.I.P Umberto Eco.

I enjoyed Eco's essays, too. He was a brilliant man.
