I don't remember this song or group at all, and I was paying attention then. So Seventies.
This was a Texas group. The song was big here, but maybe not nationally.
Given the number of times I've found the 45 around here, it was big in North Florida. I do remember hearing it on the radio in Washington D.C.
I thought you made the name up when you used it in a headline a couple of days ago.A.S.

I remember it well. #14 on Billboard in March 1969. I was in college at the time, so it must have played on KDKA in Pittsburgh and WIXZ in McKeesport (infamous as an early billet for Rush Limbaugh under the DJ name Jeff Christie).
I saw Bubble Puppy in the day. They were wonderful. And, Rick, they were so Sicties, not Seventies!
They re-formed and have played some shows around Austin and Central Texas over the past few years.
