Coxe was never a flashy writer, and a lot of his plots were pedestrian rather than anything else. But he was solid, and Murdoch and Casey (who were basically indistinguishable, according to my increasingly unreliable memory) were well-done characters. I though he got the ambiance of the 1940s/1950s newsroom pretty well.

Elegant cover. Is it credited?
No, but I'll bet Gerald Gregg did it, as he did so many of them.
