Looks like San Diego had quite a different top 10 than a lot of other places, including New York. "Treat Her Right" - how come I didn't remember it was Roy Head & The Traits? - went from 24 to 17 that week (9/22) in New York. Here is the top 10:

1 8 YESTERDAY - The Beatles (Capitol)
2 1 EVE OF DESTRUCTION - Barry McGuire
3 3 HANG ON SLOOPY - The McCoys
4 7 YOU WERE ON MY MIND - We Five
5 2 THE “IN” CROWD - The Ramsey Lewis Trio
6 5 UNCHAINED MELODY - The Righteous Brothers
7 6 HELP! - The Beatles (
8 4 LIKE A ROLLING STONE - Bob Dylan
9 13 YOU’VE GOT YOUR TROUBLES - The Fortunes
10 9 CATCH US IF YOU CAN - The Dave Clark Five

A P.F. Sloan (excuse me, Slaon) single on the charts!

/Lotsa typos on this chart. Someone using god two-finger hunt-and-peck method.

I should talk about typos! god=the (although I don't know how).

/Karma is everywhere!

Nice list, Jeff.

I never criticize typos, Deb. I make too many of them to mention one by somebody else.

Here's Billboard's list:
Help!
The Eve of Destruction
Like a Rolling Stone
You Were On My Mind
Catch Us If You Can
The In Crowd (An actual instrumental! And jazz-ish!)
Hang on Sloopy
It Ain't Me, Babe (Turtles edition)
I Got You Babe
Heart Full Of Soul

Very similar to the NYC list.
