Well, I haven't read any in their entirety, and a few of the writers not yet. I'm always surprised when someone such as reviewer Mia Alvar didn't "discover " short stories till reading Saunders and more talented contemporaries in college, butI'm more surprised when anyone literate doesn't like nor read short fiction at all. Quite aside from the good suggestions, I would not object to any sensible reason to run Ms. Alvar's author photo.

I've read the Pam Houston & Chinua Achebe, and two more recent collections by Joan Silber. I don't know the others. Most don't interest me.

Only read the Millhauser, a writer I can highly recommend.
None of them for me.
A couple--but I'm not a big fan of international writers.
She's right, I've never read them, and I know I won't. This is not to slam their value, merely a reflection of my tastes.
