Someone should snag the opportunity to put his early work into ebook formats. I'd buy them in a nanosecond. (Well, it seems someone--probably Ellison--already has.) Jesus...he's 81. That seems impossible.
When I was a kid, I went to Boston's first Star Trek convention, and I stumbled into a room where a guy was on stage telling the most bizarre, psychotic story, although I wasn't entirely whether he was relating something that happened to him or doing a reading since he didn't appear to be reading from anything. It turned out to be Ellison reciting one of his stories that he had memorized. I became a fan that day, reading everything of his I could find.

Looks like an expensive book!
There's a signed copy on Abebooks for $1500.

I think most of Ellison is available in eBook form. He was one of my favorite writers when I was a kid, although he's not that much older than I am.

Great story, Dave. Ellison made a lot of us fans.
