Sorry to hear this; that song just means Summer of Love, doesn't it? But how in the world did he get to be just four years younger than my parents?

Good point Deb, about the Summer of Love . My brother Ken was at Woodstock which was - can it really be turned? - 43 years ago this past week.

KBWD in Brownwood played that song a dozen times a day that summer. Despite that I still like it a lot. Rest in peace, Mr. McKenzie.

As you might have guessed, James, that's the station I heard it on, many times.

And I was sitting there 14 or 15 miles away in Blanket, listening at the same time (and quite possibly reading some of the same books). Small world, ain't it?

For sure.

A very much beloved song to me. That summer I was living in Laguna Beach, CA and we had plenty of hippies there, I'll tell you. I was a pseudo-hippie myself, but wearing shorts and haratchi sandals.
