Whereas I've seen all the movies and read none of the books. My girlfriend, the Potterphile, has done both and has listened to all the Potter Books on Tape numerous times.
I have three of the films on DVD and read the first book, courtesy of my ex-sister-in-law (aka She who will not be named). At the time a lot of people were talking about the books negatively in the usual terms - if the kids read these they won't read anything else. She who will not be named takes the contrary view - anything that gets them reading was fine with her. And to be fair the books got better and bigger as the series went on.

Rectify that. You'll be glad you did.
