There are a lot of good choices on the list, as well as a number of pretentious, unreadable - at least to me - books, bt I won't name the latter.

But how could they rank Bridget Jones four places higher than Lonesome Dove?

They must be nuts.

Obviously that explains why I'm not on there.

I've actually read 13 of these. The Da Vinci Code is a pile of festering crap; I thought it was awful.

I've read two. How Lonesome Dove beat Ryan Rides Back is beyond me.

Oh, Bill, who cares about not being on that silly list? We have stories in the fabulous final issue of Hardluck Stories. That's where the real action is!

I'm getting behind. I've only read ten. I'm ashamed to admit The Da Vinci Code is one of them.

I'm proud to say that I've read (or read via audio book) three of those listed. Of course I have never been one to jump on the readers' bandwagon. If everybody (especially Oprah) says I should read it, I usually find something else--say a Dan Rhodes novel (of which I have read 15 of 15--and some excellent shorts along the way) or some such.

Lonesome Dove is the only one I'd re-read of the three I have read.

Just checked - I've read 31 and started one other (Da Vinci) that I tossed.

I haven't counted, but I have to say that Benjie has the right idea.
