Well, that review pretty much told me what I suspected-that I was better off digging my copy of Lake Placid out of my moving boxes than watching that sequel.
The original is one of those movies that just gets better every time you watch it. Knowing how animal friendly Betty White is, and the sarcasm and dry wit in the script, it's just a classic.
And John Schneider? I grew up on the Dukes of Hazard, but seeing his name on the cast list pretty much gave me a big hint about the quality of the film. Sorry John.
Lake Placid is great, dumb fun. Loved the grizzly bear scene, and was quite shocked by the non-traditional ending. Looks like the sequel's filmmakers didn't take that obvious opening for part 2.
Which begs the question: When oh when are we going to get the desperately needed "Croc vs. Gator" feature film? Mayhap once the writers' strike is over...
You don't have the dvd Bill? A croc fan like yourself? I'm shocked. I actually did go dig my copy out of the moving boxes yesterday after reading the story-it's just so great.

I went to see the original in the theater, of course. But maybe I need the DVD, too.
