50 TV Theme Songs the Listaholic Will Never Forget

50 TV Theme Songs I'll Never Forget: "TV shows come and go (well, maybe with the exception of COPS and The Simpsons), but television theme songs will always stay with us, be it nostalgic or just plain annoying. On more than one occasion, I’ve caught myself humming most of the TV show theme songs listed below."

The "Odd Couple" theme, "Dick Van Dyke," "Mary Tyler Moore" "All in the Family" and M*A*S*H stay with me. I can tell he's a younger guy.

These days, it seems to me that everybody is a younger guy.

Another list denied to office drones with paternalistic (or, more accurately, lawsuit-phobic) policies. Apparently Listaholic has nude tv themes somewhere on its site, or advertises same.

Admittedly the Listaholic loves nudity.

The listmaker is yet another callow youth with no real track record. How about The Lone Ranger, Perry Mason, Peter Gunn, I Love Lucy, Combat, The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson, Rawhide, Have Gun, Will Travel, Bonanza, Dragnet, Welcome Back, Kotter (although I hated the show), Hill Street Blues, and The Monkees? I could go on.

Most of us could go on about TV themes. I have a certain fondness for the theme from an obscure ABC western called The Rebel, probably because it was done by Johnny Cash.

By the way Cap'n Bob, were you referring to the opening or closing theme from Have Gun, Will Travel? The song Johnny Western did was only used for the closing and only after the first season. The show was on our alleged western cable channel here in Canada last year (what I could say about that channel isn't fit for public consumption. Suffice it to say the fact that U-571 isn't a western doesn't bother them.

Right you are, Brent, Johnny Yuma was another great song. And I did mean the Johnny Western song for HGWT. Indeed, I could have added at least a dozen more western TV theme songs to my list: Maverick, Sugarfoot, Cheyenne, Colt .45, The Rifleman, "Happy Trails" from Roy Rogers, and Yancy Derringer, to name a few.

the best theme ever written for a tv show was the theme for "Checkmate." No, wait!!! Route 66!!! No, wait!!! Mission Impossible!!! No wait!!! The Simpsons!!!

i just went to televisiontunes. they are all there, my friends, and cap't bob. all twelve billion of 'em. just punch and play. see you all in 500 years!!!!. watch the RIAA and their on-the-take government cronies shut the place down.

However, televisiontunes.com isn't flawless...it manages to misidentify the original SCTV theme with its replacement. Most impressive obscure themes include SERIAL EXPERIMENTS: LAIN (the opening sequence with a remakably good theme song gets across what the series is getting at better than the rest of the series does) and CORONET BLUE, which Bill was kind enough to point us toward before the Great Viacom YouTube Removal.

...and they manage to think that THE NBC MYSTERY MOVIE theme was the COLUMBO theme. Shame.

they also dont have the crusader rabbit theme. screw 'em. the RIAA can have them.
