It took me a moment, but I finally got why the Fitzgerald set is so "cheap"--the dust jackets are facsimiles, not original. And as we all know, with old books most of the value is in either the dust jackets or the author's signature. The book is tertiary...because who would actually risk reading a book you'd just paid $15,000 for?
