I knew that Finnegan's Wake ended in mid-sentence. And Dahlgren is one of my favorite novels even, so I knew that one as well. It's an interesting ploy, but I wonder, overall, how effective it really is.
James M Cain's Butterfly ends mid sentence -- with the police closing in on the narrator. Also, at the end of Pink Floyd's Wall album, Roger Waters mumbles "Isn't this where we--" and the beginning of the album starts with him mumbling "-- left off."
