Houston Chronicle: CHICAGO (AP) — Milt Pappas, who came within a disputed pitch of throwing a perfect game for the Chicago Cubs in 1972 and was part of the lopsided trade that brought Frank Robinson to Baltimore, died Tuesday. He was 76.
Never got over Drysdale's election to the Hall of Fame, while he languished outside.
Drysdale: 209-166 W-L, 2.95 ERA (in a better pitchers' park), 49 shutouts. 8 All-Star team selections Pappas: 209-164, 3/45 (Drysdale's home park wasn't that much better), 43. 2 AS
But Drysdale was FAMOUS and Pappas was someone you knew of if you followed baseball closely.

I remember the name but doubt that I ever saw him play.
