Gogi Grant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Gogi Grant (September 20, 1924 – March 10, 2016) was an American popular singer. She is best known for her No. 1 hit in 1956, "The Wayward Wind".
I liked her, too. I dimly recall she quit her record company when they insisted she cut an album of Beatles tunes. Those were the days when even Lawrence (I always called him "Larry") Welk wore bell bottoms and wide flowery neckties.

They call them "1-hit wonders" dismissively, but if I'd done "Wayward Wind" I'd look back and be proud of it.
One of my all-time favorites. But let's not forget "Suddenly There's a Valley."
One of my favorite songs.
Great minds think alike! I was just 10 when WW came out, but I liked it even then.
I've been sampling her work on YouTube tonight. Excellent singer!
I always liked "The Wayward Wind" a lot. It was on an album my parents played incessantly and I have it on a 4 CD collection of songs from 1956-59.
I notice she was the same age as my father, within a couple of weeks,
