Here They Come

Hey hey, The Monkees announced a 50th anniversary album and tour: The Monkees — the greatest fake band ever assembled for a madcap TV show — will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the series this summer with a new album, titled Good Times!, and a lengthy North American tour kicking off May 18 in Fort Myers, Florida, Rolling Stone reported Friday.

No Davy Jones, no Monkees.

Came here to say the same thing. Basically, it's just Dolenz-Tork and a backup band.

I saw the Monkees on one of their nostalgia tours about 25 years ago (opening act: Weird Al). They put on a good show, but Davy was such an integral part of it, I don't see them making it work without him. They could function without Mike Nesmith because he always was rather detached and cold, Davy was front-and-center.

/I saw U2 in concert once and Davy Jones came out on stage and sang "Daydream Believer" with The Edge.

That must have been fun. We were down here when he died. It was a huge local deal because he lived in Wellington.
