We tried to watch the live broadcast last night, but it was so draggy and downbeat, we gave up after a while. But I hesitate to say it was awful because Vanessa (Rizzo) Hudgens's father passed away on Saturday and I'm sure that contributed to the air of forced high spirits that seemed to sap the energy from the whole production.
Jackie watched the first hour, then switched to Madam Secretary at 8. She said the guy who played Zucco looked way too old but thought Hudgens was OK. Nothing could be worse than Stockard Channing.
Of course, we went to the Eden Theater in the East Village to see the original with Barry Bostwick as Danny and the toughest Rizzo ever, Adrienne Barbeau.

I recorded it in the hopes that without commercials it might be okay.

Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens are 27, Aaron Tveit is 32.
Channing was 34. Adrienne Barbeau was beyond her teen years, I'm guessing, not that it matters when you're Adrienne Barbeau.
On stage is different than on film.
Just checked. Adrienne and Barry Bostwick were both about 26 or 27 then.
Younger than Channing Stockard, for sure.
