The Buzzfeed correction includes this elegant phrase, "I only have hockey teams to base my knowledge off of." Keep in mind that this is in the correction, not the original article. Yikes!
As for the New York Times's lengthly correction--are there any editors working there anymore?
I loved the correction to the headline about Obama being the anti-Christ...I'm not sure it makes things any better for the letter-writer. He's a nut case either way.

I caught that "off of" in the Buzzfeed correction, but I don't expect much from Buzzfeed. I used to expect more from the NYT, but no longer.

My brother, who works for the NY Times, sent me a correction (from 2005) that runs nearly 1,000 words (after I sent him the link to these)...
I liked the Obama one too.
But the question remains: does the Mayor of Missisauga have a big dog or not?
