Our local library was forced by Katrina damage to finally go to an all-digital card catalog, but they were using the old cards for scratch paper for years after. It was kinda fun to pick up a card to jot something down on and flip it over to see what book was referenced.
I was still making cards for the card catalog in an elementary school library as late as 2007--and students were still getting lessons in how to look up books using the cc at least through 2009.

Yet another skill rendered obsolete.
