Virgil Trucks, R. I. P.

Virgil Trucks, who threw 2 no-hitters in 1952, dies at 95: Virgil "Fire" Trucks, who threw two no-hitters for the Detroit Tigers in an otherwise dreadful 1952 season and was the last pitcher to toss a complete-game no-hitter at Yankee Stadium, has died. He was 95

Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but I believe David Cone pitched a no-hitter (actually, I think it was a perfect game) in Yankee Stadium.

/RIP, Fire Trucks.

Deb, I was going to say that they must mean the last opposing pitcher as not only Cone (1999) but Dave Righetti (July 4, 1983), David Wells (also a perfect game, in 1998), Dwight Gooden (1996) and Jim Abbott (1993) pitched no-hitters for the Yankees at home.

And of course that doesn't even include Don Larsen's perfect game in the 1956 World Series.
