James P. Hogan, R. I. P.

SF Site News � Obituary: James P. Hogan: "Author James P. Hogan (b. 1941) was found dead on July 12 according to his literary agent. Hogan, who won three Seiun Awards and 2 Prometheus Awards, wrote the “Giants” series, beginning with his debut novel, Inherit the Stars, as well as The Proteus Operation and Thrice Upon a Time."

Sad news. I hadn't read much of his work in a few years, but Inherit The Stars ranks among my favorite SF novels.

I remember THRICE UPON A TIME. That was a really interesting book.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I loved a lot of his work, especially the Inherit the stars books. I even met the guy once. I've got a couple of signed books by him.

Met him at an Aggiecon many years ago. I got several books signend, including Inherit the Stars and Thrice Upon a Time.

I'd forgotten that he was a guest at Armadillocon, and fairly recently.
