A Brief Rant

Have I mentioned before how much I hate the twice-a-year time change? Why, yes, I believe I have. But that's not going to stop me from mentioning it again. I think the whole thing is ridiculous. If I could find just one incontrovertible study that shows the switch is good for something, then I might feel better about it, but I can't find one. It seems to me that what we have is the massive disruption of millions of lives, and for no good reason. I say pick a time, Standard or Daylight Saving, and stick with it. Set it and forget it. Stop screwing around with my circadian rhythm!

It takes my body weeks to agree with the clocks. I hate it!!! I like standard time because I don't like getting up before dawn this time of the year.

I realize we're not the only ones who do this, but what kind of country is so wishy washy that we can't settle on a time and stick with it? It doesn't bother me quite as much as it did before I retired, since now I don't have to get up at any particular time, but I still hate it. I'd prefer standard time, but I'd rather have year round DST than changing twice a year.

I agree. It's state option. Arizona and Indiana stay on standard time. I'd like to talk Montana into it.

Indiana doesn't anymore.

I only like the fall back part of it. Any excuse to sleep longer.

My Dad said "An Indian chief once complained that his blanket was too short - so the wise man of the village said to cut a piece off and sew it to the other end... Daylight Saving time came from that idea!
