No More Pencils, No More Books . . . .

A library without the books - The Boston Globe: "This year, after having amassed a collection of more than 20,000 books, officials at the pristine campus about 90 minutes west of Boston have decided the 144-year-old school no longer needs a traditional library. The academy’s administrators have decided to discard all their books and have given away half of what stocked their sprawling stacks - the classics, novels, poetry, biographies, tomes on every subject from the humanities to the sciences. The future, they believe, is digital."

They better watch themselves over there. The next step could be to get rid of all those pesky, expensive, space wasting flesh pots called teachers. And maybe a few administrators as well.

I mean, if you're going to go electronic, let's GO ELECTRONIC!

The future may be digital. But not yet.

They'll take my books when they pry them from my cold, dead hands!

On the other hand, where are the giveaways? I'll take some--my library is never complete.

Are you listening Andy Jaysnovitch? They're giving away 20,000 books.
An idea, BYW, I find revolting.

Well on the bright (?!) side at least they didn't haul the books to the town dump.

Terrill, they may get rid of the books; they get rid of "those pesky, expensive, space wasting flesh pots called teachers;" they tear down those expensive to maintain buildings and sell off the land underneath it; they may even stop accepting those whiny needy people known as students, but get rid of an administrator? NEVER!

BAH! RIDICULOUS! WRONG HEADED!

This is like saying we don't need any fresh foods because we can get it frozen.

Or that men don't need women because they can look at pictures.

Or something else stupid.

Not to mention, what happens when the electricity goes off? For a month? When all the batteries die (see "the Great Battery Shortage of 2021"), when sunspots interfere with satellite signals?

I better go take a blood pressure pill, this has got me dizzy.
