I wonder if there are still those half circle plexiglass things that pass as phone booths. I can't believe there are only four outdoor public phones in NYC.
The other disappearing phonebooth is the indoor kind, beautiful, soundproof wooden cabinets with a little seat. Some people had them in their houses. There was one in our neighbourhood Y, but they took the door off and installed a water fountain. Then they put the payphone right inside the front door, which is the absolutely worst place, especially in winter here (Montreal).
