I dislike the sideways gun thing myself and have no idea why/when it became cool. Does anyone know?
In a movie where Quintin Tarantino (Richard Gecko) can peer through the hole in his hand before binding it up with duct tape I figure sideways shooting is not all that egregious.

clooney shoots sideways i see. in fact i see repeatedly.
hard to believe my opinion of him could get lower but seeing his gun handling did it.
