No Ride the High Country? I prefer the remake of 3:10 to Yuma. I can't stand the wooden Glenn Ford. Terrible actor. McLintock? terrible movie. So are How the West Was Won and Sons of Katie Elder( never could figure out how she could have sons whose ages are 40 years apart). I like Liberty Valance but always have a problem with Jimmy Stewart being way too old for his role. Also have problems with Rio Bravo-Ricky Nelson can't act and Dean Martins greasy 50's hairdo looks out of place.
There are definitely some good ones listed. I wouldn't pick some of them as the "best", however. It looks like a John Wayne did the selecting (LOL). STAGECOACH I would agree with, and THE SHOOTIST. Of course, my wife would have picked all of the John Wayne movies (sigh).
This list was okay, but I cringe at the modern stuff -- NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN and so on.
RIDE THE HIGH COUNTRY's absence puts the whole thing into question, and I would imagine few among us would say, "You know what one of the great westerns of all time is? THE SONS OF KATIE ELDER!"
These lists are always fun. I wonder if the writer saw My Darling Clementine. Actress Kathy Downs played the part of Clementine. The beautiful Linda Darnell played a Mexican spitfire named Chihuahua, love interest to Victor Mature's Doc Holliday.

I'm not sure what McClintock is doing in there...but it's a much better list that that other one you shared with us a couple of weeks (?) ago...

The above should have been "...a John Wayne fan did the selecting."
Glad to see COMANCHE STATION made the list.
Why is "High Noon" consistently over-rated on these lists?
John Duke
Couldn't disagree more about Glenn Ford.
