Hollywood Reporter: Jerry Lewis, whose irrepressible zaniness and frantic creativity vaulted him to stardom as a comic movie star who wielded unparalleled green-light power at Paramount in the 1960s, died Sunday. He was 91.
Hat tip to Jeff Meyerson.

Can't say I've thought about Jerry Lewis at all in the last, oh, 40 years. Not my cup of tea.
But Dick Gregory, who also died this week...I think about him several times a year. I found myself, before news of his death, wondering how he would have reacted to Charlottesville, and to Trump.
I was a big Jerry Lewis fan when I was a kid, because i was just the right age to see THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and his other early Sixties movies at the drive-in. Later, I enjoyed the Martin and Lewis movies I watched on TV. I haven't seen any of them in many years, though, and have no idea how they hold up. Still, he sure made me laugh a lot when I was eight or nine years old. Rest in peace.
I like to picture Jerry being greeted by Sammy Petrillo, wherever they are,
