I probably need to read more about that. I was a math geek in HS, and the explanation of why a base-60 number system is superior was, well, superficial. But, generally, it's interesting to re-discover how sophisticated the mathematical thinking of ancient civilizations could be.
(On a mystery-related note, that sort of sophistication underlies the solution in Rex Stout's Nero Wolfe novella, "The Zero Clue.")

My level of math sophistication is about third grade.
