Brian Aldiss - Wikipedia: Brian Wilson Aldiss, OBE (/ˈɔːldɪs/; 18 August 1925 – 18 August 2017[1]) was an English writer and anthologies editor, best known for science fiction novels and short stories. His byline reads either Brian W. Aldiss or simply Brian Aldiss, except for occasional pseudonyms during the mid-1960s.

I have a number of Brian Aldiss novels in my book stacks. Aldiss was an underrated SF writer.
Too bad. I've read some interesting stuff by him.
Aldiss was never content to rest on his laurels, constantly trying new themes and approaches. He was a major influence in the field in his writing, his editing, and his criticism. He was certainly the equal of J. G. Ballard and, at times, outshone him.
One of my favorites when I started reading science fiction in the 60's. His Hothouse(The Long Afternoon of Earth in the first U.S. publication) is still one of my favorites. Just reread it a year or two ago.
