Before we moved to Brooklyn (in 1958!) we lived in Kew Gardens, Queens. My grandparents were about a mile or so away from us. Their apartment overlooked Queens Boulevard (long before it's "Boulevard of Death" moniker). Across the wide, wide boulevard was a great luncheonette where we'd beg my mother to take us. They had a great tuna fish on toast sandwich (years later my cousin told me they put whipped cream in with the mayo!) and a great malted.

I really miss the old days.
I'd love to have that tuna on toast and a malted right now!
