Is it just me or are Speilberg's movies becoming simultaneously more "important" and more boring as time goes on?
CSB: one of my daughters just watched E.T. for the first time and she said she cried more than she has watching any movie ever. So 30-plus years later, it still has that power.
It's all personal opinion, but my list would look very different. VERY different. For instance, ET is a kid flick, and though it may have, as Deb puts it, "power", it's as a kid movie and is certainly not Spielberg's best. This reviewer says he knows nothing of the Tintin character, then criticizes the way Spielberg portrays the character. Sheesh.
Interesting, with the usual arguments everywhere for the ranked order. The Top 10 should have included the ground breaking Close Encounters instead of "Catch me if You Can." Among others things, you have to admire the variety in his body of work. And so many best picture nominations. Seeing all these in one list now, my all-time favorite three would be Jaws, Close Encounters, and War Horse.

No I don't, Not even close.
I liked Empire of the Sun much better and The War Horse much less. Glad to see Munich rated highly. Would have rated Hook dead last.
