BuzzFeed News: Peter Shaffer, the British playwright celebrated for his canonical works Equus and Amadeus, died Monday, according to his literary agent. He was 90. Hat tip to Deb.
We saw EQUUS twice, with Peter Firth as the boy, first opposite Anthony Hopkins and then Richard Burton. (This was 1974 and 1976, by the way.) Also saw AMADEUS, with Ian McKellen and Tim Curry, in 1981. Lastly, it was LETTICE AND LOVAGE in 1990, with Maggie Smith & Margaret Tyzack.
We also saw his late twin brother Anthony's SLEUTH in 1971, with Anthony Quayle and Keith Baxter, and WHODUNIT in 1983, with Fred Gwynne and John Glover.

I did see both AMADEUS and SLEUTH in film version...
A fan. Equus was particularly meaningful to me.
By odd coincidence, the final (pre-recorded) Jeopardy question (answer) was Amadeus.
I should have said that this was today's final Jeopardy.
