Strangely absent: Peter, Paul, and Mary singing "Blowing in the Wind". Even more inexplicable: me singing "It's A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall" in the shower.
I'll admit to a great fondness for Richie Havens' cover of "Oxford Town" and Joan Baez's cover of "Love Is a Four-Letter Word." She also does a job on "Simple Twist of Fate."
The covers on this list are among the best, though. Even Dylan said once that Hendryx did "All Along the Watchtower" better than he did.
Generally, Dylan covers have been pretty damned good (I do not count William Shatner and "Mr. Tambourine Man). I'm also not all that big a fan of the Byrd's version or Mr. Tambourine man--they leave way too much of the song out.

Hate Guns and Roses cover of Knockin on Heavens Door.
I guess #1 was a no-brainer.
I hate Guns & Roses, period.

I vote for Ring Them Bells sung by Gordon Lightfoot

I agree with numbers 1 and 2. I admit to not having heard some of the others.
I really love Manfred Mann's "Mighty Quinn" and Johnny Winter's "Highway 61 Revisited."

The Shatner shouldn't be counted. I like the Byrds' version of "Mr. Tambourine Man" even if it's shortened.
