ABC News: Character actor Abe Vigoda, whose leathery, sunken-eyed face made him ideal for playing the over-the-hill detective Phil Fish in the 1970s TV series "Barney Miller" and the doomed Mafia soldier in "The Godfather," died Tuesday at age 94.

Vigoda's Sal Tessio was not a mere Mafia soldier, he was a Capo with his own crew. Soldiers -the lowest level of Mafia members--report to Capos. Capos run their own crew, taking a cut of each crew member's criminal enterprises; and in turn report to Bosses or Underbosses. (Sorry to be a stickler for details...)

Barney Miller was my favorite show when I was a kid. I probably saw most episodes more than half a dozen times. Probably the only sitcom I would binge watch from beginning to end if I have the chance again.
A great series. One of the all-time best.
