The NYT review of the movie adaptation (1939, starring Paul Muni and Jane Bryan), refers to the movie this way: ""We Are Not Alone" emerges as a film of rare tenderness and beauty, compassionate and grave, possessed above all of the quality of serenity."
Somehow, the copy on the cover does not seem to reflect that.
