Adele Mailer, R. I. P.
The New York Times: Adele Mailer, an artist and actress who made headlines in 1960 when her husband, the novelist Norman Mailer, stabbed and seriously wounded her at a drunken party in their apartment, died on Sunday in Manhattan. She was 90.

Wow! The only phrase for their marriage is folie-a-deux. Although I believe Mailer seemed to get into that type of dynamic with every woman in his life. He never stabbed any of the others though...well, that we know of.
But he helped get Jack Henry Abbott out of prison for bank robbery, and Abbott then stabbed a waiter to death in an altercation. He later committed suicide in prison.
I think also of William Burroughs killing his girlfriend in a drunken "William Tell" act.
Our authors were larger than life back then...not always a good thing.
I'm trying to picture Bill Crider stabbing someone but I can't.
