Who doesn't want a pajama party? Well, maybe one a little different from what Scholastic Book Services would've endorsed in 1959...

Though as to what Gay Head might have in mind in 1962 is another matter entirely...

Looks like my kind of party.

Sure, I always put on a suit and tie (as we used to say) when I went to listen to records and drink a soda. Oh and those travel posters are sure cool, aren't they? I'll bet one of those records was Pat Boone singing his hits.

What, you didn't have travel posters in your party room?

I definitely like to keep my LPs on the dance floor. Where better, particularly outside the sleeves?

Gay Head?

That can't be her real name, can it?

A few years ago, one of my teenaged daughters picked up a 1950s etiquette book for teenage girls. She loved it--although the world it described was as alien to her as life in the British Raj would have been.

I don't know if it's her real name or not, but a lot of books were published under that name back in the '50s and '60s.

And my researches have led me to a wonderful blog.
a wonderful blog

I love that blog! One of the first "teenage" books I read was WAIT FOR MARCY. It was not a life I identified with in any way, but I loved it!

I don't even read teen romances from those days, but I loved the blog, too.
